Choosing a Bicycle

1. What Kind of Riding?

We don't choose a bike first. We ask ourselves, what type of riding do you want a bike for? There are the mountain biking type, serious cyclist/racer type, casual short distances type, touring the county/country type, and others. Once you answer this question, you are ready to choose.

2. What is my budget?

You can get the same type of bicycle at varying prices. Prices vary for a number of reasons which we don't have the space to cover. However, be careful of brands that are unheard of and might have been made in a non-cycling country.

3. What is my size?

Size does matter in this case. For prolonged riding enjoyment, check with the instore mechanic where you will purchase from for a proper fit. If you cannot locate an instore mechanic, then just check your proper size with the frame size calculator at www.ebicycle.com

4. What kind of components?

First, do you want a lightweight type? This means that you look for alloy type components such as alloy rims, brakes, seat posts, etc. As a general rule, the lighter the bike, the more pricey.

About Us...

Bicycle Seats For Men dot Org is owned by Conan Hatch. Conan is a retired competitive cyclist who grew up in a cycling culture with a brother cyclist and other friends taking up the sport. In the 1980's, whilst still in high school, he used whatever materials were available to race in local and national competitions. Touring bicycle frames were cut and welded to produce a shorter drivechain and thus a more responsive bike. Soccer boots with stiff soles were modified to become cycling shoes.

From soccer boots and welded bike frames, Conan graduated to elite frames, including a French frame and proper cycling gear. It was a great feeling to put on cycling Lycra shorts with Chamois leather, rather than cut track pants. The feeling of putting on proper cycling gloves cannot be described properly in words. So he has a lot of experience in cycling gear, bike maintenance, casual and competitive riding and a whole lot of other stuff.

Conan has competed in local and national and International Games. He loved the long distances of over fifty kilometers and above. He also was also a Time Trial Specialist before he gave up competitive cycling. He is still passionate about cycling and loves to share his knowledge with others. So please sign up with the newsletter and learn more about the exciting world of cycling.
